About our Micro Preschool
Pebbles & Pages offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can thrive. Our program focuses on individualized programming and low ratios to ensure every child receives the attention they need to grow and thrive. Low child-to-staff ratio

Our curriculum integrates literacy, numeracy and social skill development through engaging play-based activities. The centre is created with a very specific design to provide a calm, yet engaging atmosphere where children feel free to explore.

A typical morning at Pebbles & Pages micro preschool
At Pebbles & Pages, our mornings are structured to provide a balanced and engaging experience for your child.
9:00 AM - Arrival and free play: Children are welcomed by Ms. Jen into a warm and inviting space where they can explore various learning centers, engage in imaginative play, and connect with peers.
9:15 AM - Share & Care : We gather together to have child-led discussions, learn to express and name feelings and talk about friendship skills.
9:30 AM - Literacy and Numeracy Activities:This period is dedicated to hands-on activities that align with our curriculum, focusing on individualized learning goals. Activities may include art, sensory play, or guided literacy and math exercises. Story time is built in and children are welcome to listen at the level they are at.
10:30 AM - Snack Time: Children wash up and enjoy a healthy snack brought from home. Yogurt & fruit, veggies & humus, cheese and meat rolls are great things to send.
10:50 - Music & Movement: This time includes singing, clapping, and exploring sounds while dancing, jumping and balancing.
11:10 AM - Relax and reflect: We wind down with calming literature, followed by quiet activities such as puzzles or drawing, preparing children for a smooth transition home. During this time, Ms. Jen will write in each child's communication book to be sent back and forth each day.
11:30 AM - Dismissal: Children are dismissed, taking with them new discoveries and happy memories from their morning at Pebbles & Pages.
Enrollment
Enrollment for this program is capped at 5 children each day, ages 2-5 years old. Classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-11:30am. "Monthly" rate 3 days per week: $300(4 weeks), 2 days per week: $225 (4 weeks) 1 day a week: $120 (4 weeks). Please inquire for early drop off times (additional fee required).
September Preschool: Mondays will only have 3 (fees will be prorated if your child attends Mondays because of Labour Day). Dates include Monday September 14, 21 & 28. Wednesday & Fridays run September 9th to October 2nd.
October Preschool: October 5th- November 2nd (for Mondays, as Monday October 12th is a holiday).
Quick Notes:
*Please send your child with a small bag or backpack containing: an extra set of clothing (things might get messy!), indoor shoes - crocs, runners or slippers, a small, healthy snack and water bottle, the communication book (provided by Pebbles & Pages).
*Please arrive by 9:15am, or call/text to let Ms. Jen know your child will be late. 613-240-4205.
*Safety - for the children's safety, the door will be locked after arrival time. This is to prevent unknown visitors from entering if Ms. Jen happens to be in the washroom, or assisting a child in a different room. Please knock and the door will be opened as soon as possible.
*Most work your child produces is done at the centre and not in paper form. How will you know what they are doing? Look for Parent Day once every 4-6 weeks! This will give you an opportunity to spend time at the Pebbles & Pages, with your child as your tour guide. They are free to show you anything they like and what they've been working on. Stay tuned for dates, to be announced shortly.
*Quick goodbyes at the door! Saying goodbye can be difficult, but necessary. It is preferred you say goodbye at the door at drop off versus "sneaking out". Ms. Jen is extremely experienced with this situation and as much comfort as needed will be provided. Every child attending will have had an intake visit, so the surroundings are already familiar. They are encouraged to find a comfort item and listen to some calming music, or see what's new on the STEM table.
*First time away from a parent? A slow entry process may be suitable - please discuss options with Ms. Jen. An example could be your child attends for the first hour on day 1, then 1.5 hours day 2, and so on.
*Please call 613-240-4205 if your child is sick to let Ms. Jen know. If your child misses more than 2 consecutive days because of illness, a $15 credit will be issued on file for each missed day beginning on day 3. This credit can be used for any future enrollment. If Ms. Jen is very ill and class is cancelled (hopefully never!), a $25 credit will be issued per day to use on any future enrollment.
*Payment is every 4 weeks on a set schedule. There will be no refunds given for any reason - missed days, holidays or an odd sick day.
